My name is Michelle Haubner. I am currently teaching Spanish 1 and Algebra 2 at the high school level, and working towards and ESL (English as a Second Language) certification to be more highly qualified to serve our international community.
I have a two year old son who was born in Mexico. My husband and I lived there for three years. To answer a common question, neither one of us is Mexican we are both from the United States. However, our time in Mexico really fueled my passion to help international communities especially after experiencing first hand how it feels to be an immigrant.
I hope that this information that I share with you all – as I learn it from my master’s course at Georgetown College – can be of use to you, fellow teachers, and your students understanding of ESL/ELL students.
